Your act must tell a story. The idea for your story is submitted as part of your entry when applying for the competition.Â
In keeping with the overall theme of the competition, your story should generally fall into the category of fantasy, sci fi, pop culture, fairy tales or myths. You can submit an idea outside of these broad categories, but these are the themes that story entries are judged on when compared to the scoring criteria. The criteria are as follows:
Originality
Theme
Creativity
Story
The more information you can provide on your story idea, the better - we don't need a beat by beat description of your planned act, but a paragraph will score better than a sentence when you send this through. It doesn't need to sound polished! We just want to be able to picture it with you.
We do not permit stories that might be triggering or offensive. The overall theme of the show is lighthearted and we often have children in the audience. Banned themes may include, but are not limited to, the themes below:
Suicide
Substance abuse or addiction
Domestic violence
Mental illness
