Categories

Aerial Mystic NZ has 3 categories - amateur, intermediate and open. All single-point aerial apparatus are welcome in all levels.

If you are unsure what level you should be applying for, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Amateur

Amateur is for our beginner performers . This level is for those who are just starting out, who may be comfortable inverting but not aerially, just starting out with safer drops or performing at lower heights. If you have previously placed in amateur level in an aerial competition, you must enter our intermediate category or higher.

Intermediate

Intermediate is the category for performers who are comfortable on stage, but not quite at the level of teaching, performing professionally or doing extreme tricks and skills. This is the category for you if you're comfortable with inverting aerially, doing drops with a little more oomph (but still wrapped/safe) or performing higher up. If you have placed in an intermediate level of competition you must enter open.

Open Category

Open is our semi-pro/pro level category. Anyone who teaches aerials (whether or not you teach the apparatus you're performing on) or has done paid aerial performances must enter this category. You must also enter open if you have placed in an intermediate level in an aerial competition.

Non-professionals are welcome to enter this category, however as entries are chosen based on a video application as well as act ideas please consider your skill level when applying.
